FUNDING VOTE

Jun 24, 2024 WASHINGTON (TND) — A congressman from New York is being accused of
bad behavior before the House voted on the funding bill to keep federal agencies
open. An investigation is already underway and there are calls for prosecution.
Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., pulled the alarm in a Capitol office building. The
GOP-controlled House Administration Committee, which oversees issues pertaining
to the Capitol complex, posted a picture from the U.S. Capitol Police showing a
man pulling the fire alarm who appeared to be Bowman.


MISSING SALTSBURG MAN FOUND DEAD IN INDIANA CO.

Jun 24, 2024 Indiana County, PA (WJAC) — State police in Indiana County say a
Saltsburg-area man, who was reported missing earlier this week after failing to
show up to work, has been found dead. Investigators say on Friday, Bryan Bialas'
vehicle was found in Young Township, Indiana County, in a remote, wooded area.
Police say authorities conducted a search and rescue operation and later found
Bialas deceased. Troopers say foul play is not suspected and his cause and
manner of death are being investigated by the Indiana County Coroner's Office.


RATTLESNAKES IN JOHNSTOWN? HERE'S WHAT TO DO IF YOU SEE ONE

Jun 24, 2024 Johnstown residents are facing a new challenge this summer: finding
rattlesnakes in their yards. The Johnstown Police Department received a call
Wednesday about a three foot yellow rattlesnake sunning itself in a yard on the
300 block of Glenn Street. Luckily, Johnstown Police Chief Rich Prichard, is no
stranger to snake handling and was able to bag it in time to hand over to a Fish
and Boat Waterways Conservation officer to be then safely transported and
relocated.


VISIT JOHNSTOWN STEPPING DOWN AS ORGANIZER OF THUNDER IN THE VALLEY

Jun 24, 2024 UPDATE:Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Visit Johnstown officials said
planning Thunder in the Valley was taking up too much of the organization's time
and losing money each year, resulting in them stepping down as the organizers.
Visit Johnstown executive director Lisa Rager said the budget is nearly $500,000
a year for the event, losing between $30,000 and $90,000. She said Visit
Johnstown is a "destination marketing organization," but became more of an event
planner for Thunder in the Valley as the years went by.

picked up a second $1 billion promise of military aid in as many days for his
war with Russia during a whirlwind tour through the European Union. The pledge
came from Belgium, which topped up the money with a commitment to give 30 F-16
fighter jets over the next four years. The Netherlands added to the goodwill by
promising to quickly assemble with key EU partners a Patriot air defense system,
which Zelenskyy sees as key in stopping Russia from hitting the power grid and
civilian areas, as well as military targets, with devastating glide bombs that

woman is behind bars after an animal cruelty investigation led to the discovery
of multiple dead ferrets that she had reportedly stolen from another individual.
Police say 24-year-old Mary-Jayda Patterson faces multiple counts of aggravated
cruelty to animals-torture, as well as charges of criminal mischief, theft and
animal cruelty. Investigators say in September, Patterson had reportedly tasked

Jun 23, 2024 WASHINGTON (TND) — Two NFL head coaches are weighing in on a
controversial speech by one player as it makes waves throughout the league.
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker earned widespread attention last week
after delivering a commencement address at Catholic liberal arts school
Benedictine College. In the address, the NFL player took aim at policies of
President Joe Biden and encouraged women to embrace becoming a “homemaker.”
“Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would
venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage
and the children you will bring into this world,” Butker said to the school’s

JOURNEY 'INTO THE MAGIC' WITH DISNEY HEROES ON ICE IN JOHNSTOWN

Jun 23, 2024 Disney On Ice is presenting "Into the Magic" in Johnstown this
weekend, taking place at the Cambria County War Memorial at First Summit Arena.
It tells a story about heroes in the Disney universe. Those characters include
Rapunzel, Moana, Belle and more. Organizers said they've received a great
response about the event from kids. Ensemble skater Lauren MacDonald said,
“They'll get to look forward to a lot of exciting ensemble numbers, very
colorful costumes, dazzling special effects and getting to see some of their
favorite Disney characters in the show.


LOCAL SPORTS SHOP REACTS TO RECENT EQUIPMENT CHANGES IN YOUTH HOCKEY

Jun 23, 2024 Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — On Sunday, USA Hockey congress announced
that it will require youth hockey players to wear neck protection in wake of the
death of former NHL forward Adam Johnson, who died after being cut by a skate
blade during a game in England. In a move that intends to put safety first, USA
Hockey is requiring youth hockey players to wear neck laceration protection in
all age classifications except adult.
