Professional opera singer Valentina O is the eclectic and multifaceted
songwriter, vocalist, arranger, and producer behind Nymphya. After a personal
tragedy in 2006 when her fiancé, record producer Keith Keller, suddenly died,
Valentina struggled to bring herself back to life from her crippling grief
through music and spiritual practice. Using what Keith taught her, Valentina
built her own recording studio in 2011 and began producing and recording DREAM
DANCE as a tribute to him.

“On my 4th back to back runthrough of this album, I am really enjoying it. There
is a lot of sorrow being released in “Beautiful Wound”; the multi-layered vocals
are marvelous. The packaging is stellar; I love the lyric book, and the
artwork. Nymphya has delivered in spades with this album. I will encourage my

Up to then, Valentina had appeared throughout the United States as an opera
singer, actor and performer, as well as on numerous soundtracks for television,
film and commercials (Time/Life Warner, IMAX, and Garfield), and on multiple CD
projects for recording artists, including backing up John Cale (The Velvet
Underground) on the Tonight Show and appearing on MTV with her group Screaming
Divas. It was with Screaming Divas that Valentina also opened for Todd Rundgren
at the Fillmore in San Francisco and for George Benson at Villa Montalvo, as
well as Dana Carvey at the Shoreline Ampitheatre.

As the award-winning creative director and arranger of the San Francisco-based
acapella cabaret group Screaming Divas in the late ’90s, Valentina won vocal
arrangement awards and top honors in the Beyond Category for the SF Weekly in
San Francisco, eventually performing for First Lady Hillary Clinton. She then
developed an obtuse love for opera and launched her professional opera career,
which brought her to the concert halls of the San Francisco Symphony, San
Francisco Opera, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, and New York City Opera, among
others.

Reviews in the press characterized Valentina’s singing as “stunning,
provocative and consistently beautiful” . . . “golden mezzo”. . . “gorgeous
voice and impressive acting” . . . “brilliance and emotional power”. . . and by
2015, Valentina was commissioned to co-write and musically arrange a cabaret
musical based on the life of Edith Piaf, which garnered rave press reviews,
extended runs, and a nomination for Best Original Script from the SF Bay Area
Theater Critics Circle.

All of these influences feed her original compositions and arrangements for
Nymphya.

The vocal mix on Wasteland is especially brilliant. That track may be my

BIOGRAPHY:

San Francisco-based NYMPHYA is an Ethereal Art Rock singer / songwriter whose
music is a mix of Art Pop, Worldbeat, and Indie Rock. Her style may be best
described as a stirring collage of eclectic beats, soaring vocals, and
captivating layers that accompany her insightful lyrics. Transpersonal and
unusual, her music transports the listener to mystical lands or a places of deep
reflection. “More of an immersion than a listening session” wrote Marc Farr of
Rock and Roll Infinity. She has been selling her original music to enthusiastic
global audiences since 2017.

In 2023, NYMPHYA successfully crowdfunded and released her latest effort, 3rd
album and illustrated companion book, “WHAT HAVE I FORGOTTEN?” which has
contributed to her solid global following.

Prior to launching NYMPHYA, the artist performed in Opera houses throughout the
US, including New York City Opera and San Francisco Opera, as well as opened for
Todd Rundgren and George Benson. She has appeared with John Cale on the Tonight
Show with Jay Leno and contributed her “golden mezzo” (San Francisco Examiner)
to syndicated television soundtracks such as Garfield.

NYMPHYA has released four albums, her most recent, WHAT HAVE I FORGOTTEN? as a

juxtapositions of NYMPHYA’S Progressive Art Pop music, but also how each song
relates to the ancient practice of spiritual alchemy.

Along with the vinyl or digipak CD, NYMPHYA wrote and fully illustrated a 170
page hardback companion book for WHAT HAVE I FORGOTTEN? , as well as recorded
hypnotic inductions into hidden inner realms with NYMPHYA’S spoken voice over
ambient music; over 1 hour of additional recorded material set to
through-composed soundscapes.

Her all original debut, DREAM DANCE, was released in December 2017, her
all-acoustic anthology of Kate Bush cover songs, NAKED KATE, in December 2019,
and her fan selected set of 6 songs in a sampler EP called CURIOS in 2021.

Since then NYMPHYA has built her global audience through selling her music
through online channels, which supports her efforts as an Indie recording
artist, and has accumulated over 1 million streams of her music on Spotify.

NYMPHYA resides near the sea and the redwoods along the craggy Northern
California coast and her live OUTSIDE OF TIME: MAGICAL MUSIC FROM THE DREAMERY

back. Such a beautiful voice. The book is HUGE and a trip through the magical
Nymphya mind and music. Had no idea such a great trip – CD and accompanying book
– could even be done. In love with her brilliant companion, Owliver. Get this
duo. You will be so glad you did. Music sticks with you for days which is, quite

I absolutely love the What Have I Forgotten book, which is based on the album of
the same title. It takes you on this journey through the stories from the
beginning to the end, the experiences, from the past, past life and present
times. It is truly a beautiful, beautifully written with stunning illustrations
and wonderful additions by Owlivor. A truly beautiful book. Also included are
the song lyrics with the meanings fully explained.
This book is a really gorgeous read, very thought provoking and accompanied by
Nymphya’s guided visionary Pathworking’s which are very comforting, earth
grounding experiences and expose great feelings of inner calming and soul
searching and soothing. This is a book of learning and understanding, which I
know I needed to read again and again to receive full understanding such is the
incredibly descriptive experiences. Also regularly practice Nymphya’s
Pathworkings as I felt feelings never previously experienced by me, such
beautiful feelings they are. It you buy the album (which I truly recommend you
do) and visa versa. Go get them for a sensational journey into a magical world.

NYMPHYA AND LACUNAE GLOW’S 2019 SINGLE RELEASE “SONG OF SIRENS”

Lacunae Glow and Nymphya’s Song of Sirens

Released March 24, 2019, this Cinematic Art-Pop / Chillwave track ‘Song of
Sirens’ explores the euphoric and ethereal nature of the feminine aspect that
draws their partners into intimacy, diving deep into the metaphoric ocean of
emotional connection, with mermaids representing the protagonists. Nymphya
partnered with Australian producer Lacunae Glow for this special single release,
and focused on creating haunting and beautiful siren vocals, blending with each
other and panning them in the mix to surround you as you get absorbed into their
underwater, otherworldly place of beauty, and ultimately, peace.

TunedLoud wrote: Her music is stunningly beautiful – layered, clean, crisp, and
dreamy, yet succinct. Her voice pierces the sound spectrum with pure crystalline
force in a chilling hymnal-like aura that paints colorful strokes.

As with most songs that have such captivating appeal, `Song of Sirens’ isn’t an
accomplishment strictly because of its words, voices and music, but because of
the way that all the pieces fit together with those elements. This recording is
a great example of how being generous with one’s music can come back in ways one
might never expect. The to and fro recordings, between continents, which lasted
6 months, plus the combined vocal and musical skills of Nymphya and Lacunae

straight from the packaging and listened to the music and song of the amazing
Nymphya. It was like havin Kate Bush in the same room. The magical voice of
Nymphya and her perfection and mastery of her instruments was instantly
soothing, and when the last track ended, I instantly played it again. The music
took me back to my teenage years when Kate Bush was always on radio and TV.
I would Highly recommend Naked Kate to anyone even if somehow they were not
familiar with the unique song and style of Kate Bush herself.

experience of this album. If I HAD to find a word to encapsulate Nymphya’s
debut, it would be RITUAL. For all of the eclectic trimmings of each track are
not the indulgences of a multi-talented polymath – they are the deliberate
placements of a focused and loving High Priestess who wants to take you with her
through a strange and wonderful journey to your dark side and then back into
your light. Stand out tracks include the lush title track (Which Kate Bush
really should cover soon), the 8 minute centerpiece “Wasteland” – a tour de
force of modern classical that will have you shaking with revelation, and “Goin
Home” with it’s rousing vocals and anthemic chorus. Each track here could host
its own little forest of tags and still fail to describe the experience because
the album is much bigger than the sum of its parts. “Dream Dance” is an
astounding and outstanding debut from this determinedly eclectic powerhouse.
Yes, it’s ‘Dreamy’ and it’s ‘Dancey’ and it’s also everything in between and its
