For the Valley is a faith-filled vision to: * Bring hope and help to foster kids and families in our city. * Partner with likeminded churches to support their ministry. * Open new campuses in neighborhoods where our people live. Thank you for your prayers, involvement, and partnership, enabling the tree of SBC to flourish as we continue making a transformational investment in our city. OUR NEXT CAMPUS COMING FALL 2025 We’re thrilled to announce plans for a new SBC campus coming to Tempe, a pivotal step in our vision to become a church for the entire Valley! Our prayer is to complete renovations and open the doors to this campus in Fall 2025. If you are already a part of For the Valley initiative, thank you! If you are new to this vision, we want you to be able to take part in this exciting effort to bring the hope of Jesus to both ASU students and our neighbors in Tempe, Mesa, Gilbert, and Chandler! * At Gigi’s Cottage, 24 girls have experienced a safe Christian home where they are empowered to pursue their God-given purpose. Your partnership is supporting the staff and facilities, and your volunteer service is meeting practical needs and showing Christ’s love to the girls through gifts, meals, mentoring and more. * Each SBC campus is active in supporting kids and families impacted by foster care through our ministry partners. Through our 2023 Christmas Gifts for Kids effort, we gave 2,150 gifts to foster children to make their Christmas special. * 75 SBC families are interested in or beginning the process to foster children; and nearly 900 attended our “Finding Your Place in Foster Care and Adoption” events to discover how they might get involved in fostering or volunteering. * More than 150 youth were afforded life-changing experiences at Royal Family Kids Camp, a summer camp for foster kids, and Teen Reach Adventure Camp, an amazing experience for foster teens. * Our active Foster, Kinship and Adoption Ministry is building community among parents who have adopted, fostered or who are raising a relative’s child. They enjoy a caring support group, luncheons, and Parents Night Out events. * As we further our efforts to support local churches, skilled staff and volunteer teams are engaging with local pastors and leaders to determine how we can help meet needs. More than $2.1 million has already been given to 27 churches that meet the qualifications for assistance. Projects range from helping with building, facilities and equipment needs to meeting critical staffing needs. * As we lay the groundwork for future SBC campus, we are investigating locations, clarifying organizational needs, and exploring communities where we might take our next steps.
