DATTALION: UKRAINE’S DATA BATTALION



DATTALION – Ukraine's Data Battalion – is a project founded and run by women in
Ukraine (many of them mothers and wives), supported by international volunteers,
fighting on the information frontlines of russia’s war against Ukraine.

DATTALION is home to the largest free and independent open-source database of
photo and video footage from the war, as well as a database of verified
eyewitnesses to the horrors of russia’s invasion.

We are Ukrainians, trying to survive russia’s worst attacks. We are sharing real
photos and videos from the frontlines, so that the world can bear witness to the
truth. Journalists frequently cannot be in the most dangerous hotspots of the
war in Ukraine - the risks of injury and death are too high - so we collate the
stories and images of war for journalists to use and for all to see.

We are providing this data and video free of charge to all, and in particular so
that reporters around the globe can see and share what russia is really doing to
us. There are many mothers among us, witnessing many battles up close, and we
are sick of seeing our children, families, and neighbors being murdered before
our very eyes.

We want to counter the russian government’s misinformation about what we are
living through in this war. russia’s good people, and concerned people all
around the world, need to see what is really happening on the ground in Ukraine.

day. We are constantly updating this database as we receive new videos and
photographs from the war’s hotspots.

DATTALION’S MISSION is to help Ukraine win this terrible war by revealing the
brutal truth about russian atrocities and the genocide of Ukrainians, and by
making clear to the world what Ukraine needs to win and rebuild.



DATTALION’S GOALS

Empower media around the world to tell their audiences the truth about russia's
war in Ukraine, by providing free and easy to access video, photos, and
eyewitness testimony from the frontlines.

Collect and store evidence of war crimes, environmental crimes, crimes against
humanity, and acts of genocide against Ukrainians committed by russia in
Ukraine.

By sending an explicit warning and sharing unambiguous factual evidence about
the threat russia poses to the democratic international system, make clear to
the world the vital need to stand with Ukraine to win this war.
