This mod is pretty straight forward. It adds an XP Block which allows for near
infinite storage of experience which any players can access. In the Creative
Menu, it can be found under the "Miscellaneous " tab.
To view how many XP is stored in the block, just look at it and a nametag-like
text will pop up above the block showing an approximation of how many levels are
stored and the exact value of XP stored in brackets (toggleable).
The block also has Waila and TheOneProbe support. Both mod's tooltips show the
same level approximation and when sneaking also the exact amount of XP stored.
The block will retain the stored XP when it's broken. The item in the inventory
will show the amount of stored XP in its tooltip, too.
The block can pickup XP orbs in a 3 block radius around it. This can be turned
off by providing a redstone signal to the XP Block.
To craft the block, surround an Emerald with 8 Iron Bars as seen here:
Usage:
* Sneak + rightclick to add all your current experience to the block
* Rightclick to remove one level from the block and add it to your experience
bar
* Offhand must be empty

Configurability:
There are six configuration options which also don't need a restart. You can:
1. Configure the speed at which the emerald within the XP Block is spinning
2. Configure the speed at which the emerald is bobbing up and down
3. Toggle the nameplate above the XP Block that shows the contents
4. Set the amount of XP needed for a comparator to output one redstone signal
strength
5. Disable picking up XP orbs around the XP Block
6. Change the radius in which the XP Block will pickup XP orbs
7. Control whether to store only one level at a time or all levels at once
8. Control whether to retrieve only one level at a time or all levels at once
9. Control the percentage of XP that the block gives back to the player, perhaps
as some sort of payment for using it
The values you insert for 1. and 2. are multiples of the default speed. If you
would set both to 2.0 the emerald would be animated twice as fast as with the
default values.
Config options 1-3 are client sided, 4-6 are server sided (latter can be found
in the serverconfig folder in your world).

It's not letting me craft this on my survival server, I'm putting in the

Sounds like you don't have the mod installed on the server. Can you place
the block down? If not, check that you have it installed in your server's
mods folder, and that you are starting the forge jar file, and NOT the
minecraft_server one.

You posted on at least 2 of my mod pages, a day after the release of a
Minecraft version, asking for an update. Let me be clear: I'm not refering to
spam as just these two isolated instances of asking for updates, I am
referring to the general abundance of update requests with each new Minecraft
version. Update requests are annoying and get on the nerves of authors that
provide you the content free of charge. Be patient, don't pressure mod
authors, and wait for them to have enough free time to look at updating their
mods.

I am having trouble retrieving xp from the xp block. I am able to store the
xp and see how much is stored but when i go to retrieve the xp it won't even
fill up an entire bar. I have made sure that both my hands are empty before
trying to retrieve the xp.

Thanks! Since I can't reproduce this with just Global XP installed, I'm
assuming this is a mod conflict of some sort. Which version of Another
Quality Modpack 3 are you on? Have you added any mods? If so which ones
exactly? Have you modified Global XP's server config? If so, how?

The Carry On config was modified to blacklist globalxp but nothing else to
my knowledge. Should the Global XP config be modified?

My question about the config is mainly asking about whether the config is
the default one that ships with the mod, or not. I am testing with the
default config, and if it's not the default config for you, the issue may be
somewhere in one of the configurable features.
EDIT: I just thought of something - do you perhaps have the
"retrieve_xp_orbs" config value enabled? This causes the block to spawn XP
orbs when you rightclick it, instead of directly adding it to your XP bar.
This helps with the mending enchantment.

Sneak + Right Click picks up the block but does not add my XP to it. I can
confirm that nothing is in the off-hand, I have XP, and the block absorbs XP
orbs as normal. Running Global XP through Another Quality Modpack 3 v1.0.3b.
Any ideas or more information I can provide?

Sounds like Carry On might be installed. Check if it has a config which
allows to ignore certain blocks, and add the XP block to it.

I can confirm that was the issue in a SP world. Waiting for the server op to
change the config file (add to the blacklist) and restart but this was likely
the issue. Thanks for the awesome mod and expedient reply!

Could you make an updated version for 1.12.2? (since the latest version made
for 1.12.2 has some bugs). I think many other people would like to see an
updated version for 1.12.2 (if they start looking for a xp storage mod) since
its a version that is used a lot in modpacks

need to know which bugs you mean. You can take a look at XP Tome, another xp
storage mod I made, it is very configurable but adds an item to store xp in,
not a

The bug I experienced a while ago is that after storing xp once you try to
get the xp from the block you do get the xp you have stored before but if you
try again you keep getting more xp from it (pretty much cheesing the system).
Basically you store a specific amount of xp but once you want to get xp from
the block the amount you can retrieve is infinite. I knew about XP tome but I
have an issue with it; Im playing on a modded multiplayer server and I want
the limit of xp to be bigger. If I wanted to change the limit of xp of one
book what file or files would I need to edit? (.cfg might not be the one I
want to edit since I think thats just client side although im not really
sure). The bug I mentioned about Global Xp isnt that much of an issue though
