   the shape of an upturned hand with the single piece circular tabletop being
   held aloft by a further close fisted hand. Each chair is highbacked with
   exaggerated elongated fingers and the fingernails on the hands are painted
   gold. Joyfully unusual table set, potentially bespoke. Some surface damage
   from usage. Chairs; height 98cm, width 40cm, depth 36cm. Table; height 69cm,

   corgi. The inner cover is inscribed 'To Mr Smith and Sybil from Elizabeth &
   Margaret' In envelope. The recipients Mr Horace Smith and his daughter Sybil
   were riding instructors to the young princesses.

   (both sides visible). ‘Wigorniensis Comitatus et Comitatus Warwicensis; nec
   non Coventrae Libertas. Worcester, Warwik Shire and The Liberty of Coventre.’

   near mint, no touch ups to border. Very scarce in this condition.

   A 1970 silver and cut glass claret jug. Elaborate silver mount with mask head
   handle, Bacchanalian mask spout and grapes and flower detail. Domed lid with
   a pointed finial. The mount is by Roberts and Belk with hallmarks for
   Sheffield. Royal brierley lead crystal cut glass cut in square panel form.
   Brierley name acid mark to underside. Holds over a standard bottle of wine.
   Dimensions approx 30.5cm height, 14 cm width at base, weight 1580g. Slight
   wear to glass on bottom of base as to be expected.

   HM Queen Elizabeth II handwritten letter from Malta to Horace Smith dated
   24th April 1950. The double sided letter is written on Clarence House, St
   James's headed notepaper but the 'Clarence House, St James's' has been
   crossed out and the word Malta written underneath and underlined. The letter
   states, 'Dear Mr Smith, I send my sincere thanks to you and Sybil for your
   message of good wishes for my birthday, which I much appreciate. It is lovely
   out here, and I have become a great polo fan - I even took it up mildly
   myself when I was out here last year! It is extremely good for one's riding,
   I find as all the ponies here are so quick that that unexpected turn which
   they are inclined to do, has one off in a moment! I hope you and Sybil are
   both well. Yours sincerely, Elizabeth.' The letter is creased along the
   centre where it has been folded in half. Horace Smith and his daughter Sybil
   ran the Cadogan Riding School and were the riding instructors to the Queen
   and Princess Margaret when they were children.

   was a Hungarian textile artist, creating Tigo-Ware in 1952 to co-ordinate
   alongside his deep textile works. Expressionist in style with scraffito
   technique to expose the white earthenware body beneath. Inspired by Hungarian
   folk art, re-interpreted in a 1950’s style. 27cm diameter.
