THE GDST IS A UNIQUE FAMILY OF 25 ALL GIRLS’ SCHOOLS ACROSS ENGLAND AND WALES.

 

As specialists in girls’ education, we tailor our teaching to the way girls
learn best.

The GDST is a family of 25 girls’ schools, including 23 independent schools and
two academies, across England and Wales. As all girls’ schools, we deliver
innovative learning for girls aged three to eighteen. From nursery, primary and
prep school, throughout secondary school and Sixth Form, they learn in an
environment where every girl thrives.

We are proud that our schools are recognised for their excellence in teaching
and pastoral care. In The Sunday Times’ 2023 Parent Power league table,
Sheffield High School were crowned Independent Secondary School of The Year in
the North and Norwich High School were crowned East Anglian Independent
Secondary School of The Year. At the 2021 TES Independent School awards, several
GDST schools won top prizes, including Notting Hill & Ealing High School for
‘Senior School of the Year’.

MY VOICE MATTERS: THE IMPORTANCE OF TEACHING GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN THE ART OF
DISAGREEING WELL 

The GDST’s Chief Executive reflects on the theme of this year’s Children’s
Mental Health Week – ‘My Voice Matters’ – and how it underpins much of the work
going on in our classrooms to build confidence and fearlessness in each student.




NOTTINGHAM GIRLS’ HOSTS 729 STUDENTS FROM 15 SCHOOLS FOR THOUGHT-PROVOKING
THEATRICAL PRODUCTION OF PROTEST

729 students from 15 schools, including 12 state-maintained and three
independent schools, gathered to enjoy the thought-provoking production Protest
hosted at Nottingham Girls’ High School.




OVER 700 PUPILS COMPETE IN GDST INAUGURAL REGIONAL FESTIVAL OF SPORT

In February 2024, students from across the GDST’s family of schools participated
in the first ever GDST Regional Festival of Sport.




SKILLS FOR LIFE – NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK 2024

This National Apprenticeship Week we interviewed a GDST alumna about her
apprenticeship in Electrical & Electronics at Rolls-Royce.
