ADD A NEW SITE

You can add a new site password entry (i.e., a set of credentials to log in to a
website or app, typically containing a username or email address and password)
to your LastPass vault in several ways – while logging in to a website, saving
manually, or adding directly within your vault. You can store an unlimited
number of password entries in your LastPass vault.

Notice: Support for adding passkeys to your vault is coming soon!






ADD A PASSWORD BY LOGGING IN TO A SITE

 1. Select the inactive (grey or black) LastPass icon in your web browser
    toolbar.
 2. Enter your email address and master password, then select Log In.
    
    Result: An active LastPass icon is displayed and you are now logged in.

 3. In your web browser, navigate to your desired site.
 4. Enter your username and password for the site and proceed to log in.
 5. When prompted by LastPass, click Add to add the site entry to your vault.

Results: Your password has now been added to your vault.


ADD A PASSWORD MANUALLY VIA THE LASTPASS BROWSER EXTENSION

 1. Select the inactive (grey or black) LastPass icon in your web browser
    toolbar.
 2. Enter your email address and master password, then select Log In.
    
    Result: An active LastPass icon is displayed and you are now logged in.

 3. Follow the instructions based on your experience:
    
    
    New experience
     1. Select the active LastPass icon .
     2. Select , then select Add password.
     3. All captured fields are displayed. If desired, you can select a folder
        and/or manage the password options.
     4. Select Add password.
    
    Previous experience
     1. Select the active LastPass icon .
     2. Go to Add item > Password.
     3. All captured fields are displayed. If desired, you can select a folder
        and/or manage the password options.
     4. Select Save.

Results: Your password has now been added to your vault.


ADD A PASSWORD MANUALLY BY SAVING ALL ENTERED DATA

Adding a site using this method is helpful for website login forms that require
more than just a username and password.

 1. Select the inactive (grey or black) LastPass icon in your web browser
    toolbar.
 2. Enter your email address and master password, then select Log In.
    
    Result: An active LastPass icon is displayed and you are now logged in.

 3. In your web browser, navigate to your desired site.
 4. Enter your login credentials (and any other form fill information required),
    but do not log in.
    
    
    
    Tip: You can have LastPass create a strong password for you.
    
    

 5. Follow the instructions based on your experience:
    
    
    New experience
     1. Select the active LastPass icon .
     2. Select , then select Save all entered data.
     3. All captured fields are displayed. If desired, you can select a folder
        and/or manage the password options.
     4. Select Add password.
    
    Previous experience
     1. Select the active LastPass icon .
     2. Go to Add item > Save All Entered Data.
     3. All captured fields are displayed. If desired, you can select a folder
        and/or manage the password options.
     4. Select Save.

Results: Your password has now been added to your vault.


ADD A PASSWORD USING THE IN-FIELD ICON ON A SITE

 1. Select the inactive (grey or black) LastPass icon in your web browser
    toolbar.
 2. Enter your email address and master password, then select Log In.
    
    Result: An active LastPass icon is displayed and you are now logged in.

 3. In your web browser, navigate to your desired site.
 4. Right-click within the username or password field of a site.
 5. Select (LastPass), then select Add item > Password.
 6. Enter all of the information you want to store.
 7. Select Save when finished.
    
    

Results: Your password has now been added to your vault.


ADD A PASSWORD FROM WITHIN YOUR VAULT

Log in to your vault to add a password.

 1. Log in to LastPass and access your vault by doing either of the following:
    * In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon and select Vault or
      Open My Vault.
    * Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your email address and
      master password.
 2. Select Passwords in the navigation pane.
 3. Select in the lower-right navigation.
 4. Enter the URL of the site, and all other information you want to store.
 5. If desired, do any of the following:
    * Select a folder to store your password in.
    * Select Advanced Settings and enable the checkbox(es) for additional
      security settings of Require Master Password Reprompt, Autologin, and/or
      AutoFill.
    * Create a TOTP code so the site (which is enabled with Two-Factor
      Authentication) can be shared with others
      Restriction: This feature is only available for LastPass Teams and
      LastPass Business accounts. What type of LastPass "business" account do I
      have?
 6. Select Save when finished.


CLONE AN ENTRY IN YOUR VAULT

Duplicate an existing password entry within your vault.

 1. Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your email address and
    master password.
    * To clone a single item, right-click on the entry you wish to clone then
      select Clone.
    * To clone multiple items, check the boxes for each of your item entries,
      then use the Action drop-down menu and select Clone.
 2. If desired, make changes to any of the site entry fields. If no changes are
    made, your site entry will be an exact copy of the original.
 3. Select Save.

Results: Your password has now been added to your vault.


PREVENT THE IN-FIELD ICON FROM APPEARING FOR SPECIFIC SITE PASSWORDS

If you do not want the LastPass icon for autofill to appear in your login
fields, you can disable it within your LastPass browser extension Preferences to
remove it for all sites, or add a site as a Never URL so that the icon does not
appear for specific sites.
