The ST7 ScadaConnect V1.1 software package is hereby released for delivery.

The product is available as download effective immediately:

1.      For holders of a valid license for ST7 ScadaConnect V1.0 who wish to
upgrade to V1.1 free of charge.

2.      For the operation of ST7 ScadaConnect in demo mode.
Please note that a corresponding license for the current software must be
obtained for full use. You can find more information on demo mode in paragraph
3. Notes on operation in demo mode.




1. Product description 

The ST7 ScadaConnect control center software enables the connection of remote
terminal units (RTUs) with ST7 protocol to SCADA systems that function as an
OPC UA client. 

Telecontrol stations based on all common SIMATIC controllers are supported:

 * S7-1200 with CP 1243-8 IRC
 * ET 200SP with CP 1542SP-1 IRC
 * S7-1500 with TIM 1531 IRC
 * S7-300 with TIM 1531 IRC, as well as TIM 3V-IE *), TIM 3V-IE Advanced *)
 * S7-400 with TIM 1531 IRC and TIM 4R-IE *)
 * RTU3000C via TIM 1531 IRC 

*) The modules have been in the product phase-out stage since 1 Oct.

ST7 ScadaConnect can run with the basic license for engineering/configuration as
well as one or higher quantity licenses for the number of desired remote
terminal units to be connected to ST7 ScadaConnect. The number of RTUs can be
increased through additional quantity licenses (addition of the quantity
licenses).

The versioning of the software is managed with the basic license; the quantity
licenses are version-independent.

 

ST7 ScadaConnect V1.1 contains the following improvements and error corrections:

 * Support of new firmware versions of the following communications modules:
   * TIM 1531 IRC: V2.4
   * CP 1243‑8 IRC: V3.5
   * CP 1542SP‑1 IRC: V2.3
 * Support of additional operating system versions
 * New design of the graphical interface
 * Additional improvements, e.g.:
   * Option to show or hide the POS and LOG window in the SC runtime system
   * Standard Windows dialog when creating a project and opening files
 * Stability improvements and error corrections
 * Improvements for optimal performance
 * Corrected errors: Support of data point typicals Bin08X-S / Bin08X-R

 

The following operating system releases apply to ST7 ScadaConnect:

 * Windows 10 Professional / Enterprise
 * Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021
 * Windows 11 Professional / Enterprise
 * Windows Server 2019 (Standard / Datacenter)
 * Windows Server 2022 (Standard / Datacenter)
 *  

ST7 ScadaConnect is compatible with clients that communicate via OPC UA.

The following are supported as SIMATIC OPC client, for example: SIMATIC WinCC V7
/ V8, SIMATIC WinCC OA and WinCC Unified.

update is recommended.

3. Notes on operation in demo mode 

If no license to use this program is purchased, the program runs in demo mode.
The runtime system of ST7 ScadaConnect can be operated with one configured
station without a license. As of the second configured station, a license and
the associated license key are required. Without a license, the runtime system
displays a window with information on licensing. 

Copying and/or distributing the program is not permitted. Furthermore, the user
is not permitted to decompile and/or edit, change or integrate the program into
other programs. The use of the program in demo mode is at your own risk and is
not suitable for productive operation. 

Please note: There is no technical support via the Siemens hotline for programs
that are operated in demo mode. A valid license is required for this.

this product, particularly open source software, as well as applicable license
conditions of such third-party software in the ReadMe file.

Note on firmware/software support

With the release of the latest version, all previous versions are to be regarded
as "end of life" versions. This means they are no longer supported or
maintained. 

Please check back regularly for possible updates, and update to the latest
version at the earliest possible time.
