OUR GOAL

WE WANTED TO DIVERSIFY OUR HIRING CHANNELS, GOING BEYOND RELYING ON LINKEDIN AND
PAID ADVERTISING.

Our Situation
Dealing with a limited talent pool
The types of technologies that we have within our Data and BI teams are quite
niche - we don't have a very big talent pool within the UK or in Europe.
Before using cord, when reaching out to people it was a case of really relying
on Linkedin and great advertising. We needed something extra to add to our
sourcing funnel, which is where cord has been really useful.
Using cord
Quality, responsive Engineers
Particularly within our Data and BI hiring, it’s more about candidate quality
rather than candidate volume and cord has got a reputation within the tech-scene
to be a really good place to advertise your CV if you are looking for a new
role. In turn, the candidate quality on cord is really high.
Engineers on cord are also actively looking for work, which means 60% of the
people we message respond, which is hell and above what we usually get - I think
the average on Linkedin is roughly 18% - our response rate on cord is a massive
improvement on that.

Sourcing quickly and efficiently
I get a lot of candidates who reach out to me directly through cord, but then I
also set up a stream for each particular skill-set that I’m looking for. cord
also integrates with slack, so when new candidates come into my streams I get a
slack notification straight away, and I can look at that candidate and send them
a message easily.
I don’t sit on cord for hours - I try and use it as a tool to go through
candidates that are there, but then really let cord do the work for me and send
candidates through as they pop up.

Getting the right amount of support
There’s a really great team behind cord who can help you onboard new users, and
train you on how to use cord properly. cord are really invested in helping us
scale these teams as well, which for us has been really beneficial.

OUR RESULT

SINCE WE’VE BEEN USING THE PLATFORM, WE’VE MADE 11 HIRES ACROSS TECHNOLOGY AND
PRODUCT UP TO THIS POINT, WHICH HAS MADE A HUGE IMPACT IN TERMS OF WHAT WE CAN
DELIVER AND BUILD THIS YEAR.
