As we enjoy the beautiful wonders of spring, it’s important to know that May is
American Stroke Month, a time to remember to Think F.A.S.T.! Strokes can happen
to anyone, at any age. About one in four adults will have a stroke in their
lifetime. Most adults in the U.S. don't know the F.A.S.T. warning signs of a
stroke: If you see Face drooping, Arm weakness or Speech difficulty, it’s Time
to call 911. Learning F.A.S.T. can save lives. Your health is in your hands.

Go Red for Women Knocks It Out of the Ballpark!

The 19th annual Go Red for Women Experience hit a home run at its new location -
Great American Ball Park! Despite a little rain, attendees heard the amazing
story of Tonia Elrod, who survived multiple cardiac arrests and the widow maker
heart attack.  Watch Tonia's inspirational story.  After the program, guests
learned Hands-Only CPR and tried their hands at batting practice on the Reds
field!

Local Teen of Impact and Woman of Impact Winners Achieve National Benchmarks

We are thrilled to share that Paige Levine, was our 2023 National Teen of Impact
Winner!! Calling Teen of Impact, the “opportunity of a lifetime,” Paige
assembled an impressive Impact Team of 33 individuals and through her guidance
and example, they helped the 16-year-old sophomore reach the top of the Teen of
Impact leaderboard. Congratulations Paige on this outstanding accomplishment!

And there’s more… the Greater Cincinnati Woman of Impact winner, Jenny Collopy
was ONE of only FOUR nominees nationwide to achieve Centennial Club status. This
prestigious group recognizes women who earned 100,000 points or more.  Points
are earned through raising funds and direct mission impact activities in the
community. Congratulations Jenny!

Crunch Fitness Rallies to Support American Stroke Month

Thank you, Life is Why supporter Crunch Fitness for helping to raise funds for
lifesaving research which allows stroke and heart survivors to enjoy more of
life’s precious moments! During American Stroke Month members and customers can
visit Crunch Fitness to support the American Stroke Association with a 
donation.



CycleNation Returns to Fountain Square

CycleNation will take place on Thursday, October 5, 2023 on Fountain Square! If
you are not familiar with CycleNation, it is a high-energy event all geared
around raising funds and awareness about stroke. It is a relay-race style event
where teams of 4-8 riders take turns cycling on a stationary bike during a two
hour ride time. If your company would like to get involved, the cost is $2,500
to reserve your bike. This was sold out event last year- so let us know if you
are interested! Please reach out to alyssa.ward@heart.org  for more details.



Heart Ball – Thank You & Join Us to Celebrate Our 100th Year

Thank you to everyone who helped make our Greater Cincinnati Heart Ball an
outstanding success. We had an outpouring of support for some of our community’s
most esteemed and visionary change-makers in our community – a SOLD OUT gala! We
will be celebrating our 100th year in 2024 and we are reserving tables NOW for
