Eurovision Song Contest 2023 is just around the corner and fans are more than
ready to dance to this year’s catchy tunes. As the country that will host the
song competition this year, the UK has a lot of attractions to offer. From a
deep dive of Liverpool to exploring the region’s natural beauty, the North West
of England has plenty of hot spots that you won’t want to miss.


LIVERPOOL, THE HOME OF THE BEATLES

Take a stroll down Liverpool's waterfront to the Albert Dock.

Home to one of the most famous bands in the world, Liverpool is already on the
musical map as the place that gave the world Paul, George, John and Ringo. And
with Eurovision Song Contest 2023 being held here, you could say that music is
coming home.

Explore the city on a music-themed tour and visit the locations that inspired
some of the most iconic songs in the world. Liverpool loves football, so see if
you can catch a match or to take a guided tour of the city’s iconic stadium. For
the most authentic British experience, make sure to check out any of the pubs
across the city like Ye Hole In Ye Wall, an 18th-century tavern with live music,
drinks and friendly locals.

Spend the night at Posh Pad, a lovely apartment in the centre of Liverpool.


MANCHESTER, A LIVELY NIGHTLIFE

Manchester's Revolution Bar is a great place to have a beer and listen to some
local music.

Just 54 kilometres from Liverpool stands the city of Manchester. It’s known for
the lively nightlife of the Northern Quarter, where bars, quirky second-hand
stores and relaxed restaurants await. Try some local favourites including meat
pies and draught beer at the Pie & Ale or book a Cheese Crawl and taste the
region's different cheeses.

Another great attraction you can’t miss is the John Rylands Library, where
you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into the wizarding world. For football fans, why
not book a Football Tour, where you’ll visit the National Football Museum, as
well as the home grounds of Manchester United and Manchester City. You can also
wander its historic streets and book a walking tour with a local.

FORMBY, A RELAXING DAY AT THE BEACH

Catch some rays on Formby Beach in Merseyside.

Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will take place in May, so we’ll keep our fingers
crossed that the weather will be perfect for a day at the beach.

Head down to Formby and take a stroll on the beautiful dunes, taking in the
breathtaking Irish Sea. Grab an ice-cold drink from the many shops along the
coastline or enjoy award-winning fish and chips at The Good Catch. The perfect
way to relax before heading back to Liverpool and partying at this year’s
Eurovision Song Contest.

THE LAKE DISTRICT, WITH A BREATHTAKING VIEW

When visiting Cumbria's Lake District, take in magnificent vistas of mountains
and lakes like Derwentwater.

One of these locations is the Lake District, in Cumbria, a two hour drive from

picnic to enjoy while hiking through the stunning scenery.

CHESTER, A STUNNING CATHEDRAL CITY

Visit Chester Cathedral on St Werburgh's Street.

Once a former Roman fort, Chester holds some of the best-preserved city walls
and some amazing Victorian architecture. Not only that, but its canals and
beautiful black-and-white buildings are a great photo opportunity for urban
enthusiasts.

Get a room at the Moxy Chester, located in the heart of the city, and start
exploring its history-filled streets. Or, better yet, go on a River Mersey
Cruise and enjoy the May sun, before heading down to grab some traditional
English food.
