vast majority of cases I handle through negotiation or mediation.

I am Meredith W. Ditchen-Oakley, an attorney in Woodstock, Georgia serving
clients throughout the northwest Atlanta metro area. I provide legal services in
uncontested divorce, child custody, adoption and other family law matters. I
also help individuals and families draft wills and other estate-planning
documents to protect their beneficiaries.

I take a holistic approach to the practice of law. People who are going through
a family dispute are often hurt and sometimes angry. As a lawyer, I spend a lot
of time counseling my clients and explaining how Georgia law applies to their
case. By explaining the law, I can help you understand the legal process you are
going through and the outcome you are likely to achieve. I can also help you
make the best possible decisions.

My job is to remove the obstacles in your path and successfully guide you to a
resolution that will help you move on to a brighter tomorrow. I believe that two
people can reach a better decision than a judge who does not know you. I will
work very hard to help you reach a settlement through negotiation or mediation.
However, if necessary to protect your interests, I will be your strongest
advocate in court.

At Meredith W. Ditchen-Oakley, P.C., I understand how confusing and at times
overwhelming it can be to choose the right options for an estate plan. Even
people with a background in finance usually turn to an attorney when planning
for the future.

I take the stress and confusion out of estate planning by explaining all your
options in layman’s terms. My philosophy is to educate clients so they are
empowered to make informed decisions. I make sure that you understand the pros
and cons of all the options before you.

I take the same approach to guiding people through probate and estate
administration. Most of my clients are in the role of estate administrator for
the first time and are unsure of what to expect. As my client, you can lean on
my two decades of experience as I guide you through the process.
