ABOUT

The Fryderyk Chopin Society (TiFC) conducts a broad range of activities
primarily aimed at popularising the music of Chopin, enhancing knowledge about
the composer’s life and work and supporting initiatives which promote Polish
musical culture.

The Society achieves these objectives mainly through cycles of concerts, music
festivals and competitions, both in Warsaw and in different regions of the
country where it has local branches (Sanniki, Gdańsk, Ostrów Wielkopolski,
Żychlin/Konin, Supraśl, Zambrów), and through publications (Rocznik Chopinowski
[Chopin Yearbook]).

TiFC assists artistic efforts to preserve the legacy of Fryderyk Chopin. To this
end, the Society works with other associations, institutions and educational
organisations.

The Fryderyk Chopin Society owns the world’s largest collection of Chopiniana.
Collected in 1935-2001, they are kept in The Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw.
In 2006 the Society transferred the collections as a deposit to the Fryderyk
Chopin Institute, a cultural institution created in 2001.
