I am an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at UC San Diego.
I received my PhD from University of Washington (UW, NLP) working with Yejin
Choi.

RESEARCH

I work on natural language processing and machine learning. Current interests
include:

 * Machine reasoning and generation: e.g., compostional constrained reasoning
   and planning, inference-time control
 * Understanding and improving large language/multi-modal models: e.g., attack
   and defense, evaluation and benchmarking, uncertainty and halluciation
 * AI/LLM for science, engineering, health: e.g., reasoning for chemistry,
   weather/climate, healthcare, and control engineering
