We could not fault the experience on the ship. Cabins were spotless and the
quality of meals, wines and service was exceptional. We were not expecting to be
two of only 6 Australians on board. There was no consideration given to our
different backgrounds during excursions etc. This meant much of the information
we were presented with was American-centric. While in Paris, for example we
heard about US involvement in WW1 with no mention of the more significant role
played by Australia in this conflict. We know, for example that American troops
in France were initially placed under the command of General Monash, an
Australian commander. There were times when we felt there was some lack of
organization with excursions. Arriving in Lyon, for example, was not well
handled. While the cooking experience was worthwhile no one on our bus was
particularly interested in following this with a walking tour, wanting only to
go to the ship.

This is our second river cruise with APT, both cruises were fantastic, couldn’t
find a fault in either. I have numerous dietary needs and the staff couldn’t
have looked after me better. All the food was excellent. We ate at the chef’s
table twice and the food was outstanding. All the staff were happy, helpful and
always smiling. The cruise director; Viktor was a fantastic host and organiser.
Adam, the maitre de always ensured my dietary needs were accommodated. The
cruise, tours and free time in various villages/towns were enjoyable and the
memories will last a lifetime. Thank you to all staff.

Terrific tour with ATP. Very professional. Tour guide Long was exceptional, as
was everyone else onboard the Mekong Serenity. Special call-out to the "orange
family" tour guides for the insights they brought to the various included
onshore tours. Hotel choices in Siem Reap and Saigon were excellent. Food was
great, with plenty of good quality wines, local spirits and beer all included in
the price. Only problem with the ship was lift breaking down on about day 2, and
not able to be fixed - lucky there were only 2 flights of stairs for most people
!

Our private trip with guide and driver to Siem Reap to see the temples of Angkor
and related areas (Koh Ker, Banteay Chhram, Beng Mealea and Banteay Sre) was
meticulously planned and well executed. The guide, Silong, was excellent, able
to answer the trickiest questions posed, and unfailingly helpful. The driver,
Tola, was highly competent and considerate. The hotel (the Sofitel) was first
rate - for accommodation, breakfast and ambience in particular. We travelled at
a very hot and humid time of year (March - December would have been better) but
were able with our guide's help to make adjustments to the itinerary on the go
to cope with the heat - one of the many advantages of private travel.
