The victim fled in his vehicle. No one was injured. A second male victim reported he was outside his vehicle when he was approached by several suspects, one of whom threatened him with a handgun, who demanded his phone and keys. The suspects attempted to flee in the victim’s vehicle but ultimately left without it. No one was injured. At approximately 12:30 a.m., a 2024 Toyota Corolla was travelling westbound when it struck a pedestrian walking in the travel portion of the roadway. The pedestrian, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Corolla remained at the scene. The investigation is ongoing. At approximately 3:33 p.m. police responded to the 7300 block of Old Columbia Road for an overturned school bus. The bus was traveling northbound when it left the roadway for an unknown reason. No other vehicles were involved. There were no indications of driver impairment. Of the 19 Hammond Middle School students on the bus, two males and two females, ages 11-14, were transported to the hospital for a checkup. The driver, a 30-year-old female, was not injured.
