Based on your feedback, we are continuing the process of simplifying and contemporizing your medical plan options with a focus on affordability. LEARN MORE HERE ARE THE HIGHLIGHTS… For the third year in a row, full-time employees will see no increase in medical contributions, and many will see a decrease: * Option 1 will see lower contributions, annual deductibles, and out-of-pocket maximums. * Option 2* will have lower contributions, no change to the deductible amount, and an option to open a Health Savings Account (HSA), a flexible pre-tax account that you own and can take with you if you leave GE. There are other changes associated with this new Option 2. For more details on Option 2 changes, click here. * Option 3 contributions will remain largely unchanged for the third year in a row. * Dental contributions will increase slightly, and Vision contributions will remain unchanged in 2023. As we previously announced, the Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) will be discontinued for Options 1 and 2 beginning January 1, 2023. If you have a credit balance in your HRA, December 31, 2022, is the last date to incur an eligible HRA expense. Note: Your contributions and out-of-pocket maximum under GE Health Choice (GEHC) may go up if you have a pay increase that moves you into a higher contribution tier, or if you are a part-time employee. Updated state surcharges for 2023 may also apply. Additionally, your deductible and out-of-pocket maximum may increase if your normal straight-time annual earnings increase. *Due to Option 2 becoming HSA-eligible, all services except preventive services will now be subject to the annual deductible. Regardless of what Business you are part of, the benefit elections you make during Annual Enrollment will be in effect for all of 2023, unless you have a qualifying event that enables you to change certain elections mid-year. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO Between October 10 and October 28, review your benefit choices and select the option that fits your needs for 2023. The SmartSelect decision support tool is available to help you assess your medical plan options. Given the changes noted earlier, we encourage you to access SmartSelect and spend a few minutes reviewing your 2023 medical elections. For example, the lower contributions and availability of an HSA may make Option 2 worth considering if you were previously in Option 1 or 3. Annual Enrollment is your once-a-year opportunity to: * Change or enroll in a medical, vision, or dental plan. * Elect contributions to a flexible spending account or health savings account. * Confirm the family members you elect to cover and their working person status. * Change your smoker or smokeless tobacco user status or let us know if you plan on participating in a cessation program in 2023. If you don’t take action, you will remain in your current medical plan option, however any prior FSA or HSA elections will not automatically carry over.
