They are also a creative and developmentally appropriate form of engineering for
elementary students!
Listed materials for each STEM Bin are found in most elementary classrooms or
can be borrowed from other teachers, and you may choose which materials that you
feel are best for your learning environment. Additional STEM engineering tools
and photos can be added to the EDITABLE STEM Bin Covers in the separate file.
Inexpensive building materials for STEM Bins can be found at Dollar Tree,
Walmart, or Target Dollar Spot.
The management of your STEM Bins is completely up to you, as they can be used
during multiple times of your day. “Challenge Yourself” cards are provided to
take structures to the next level, allowing students to improve and enhance
their structures. Upper grade supplements are also provided to allow for more
challenging options.
The provided blueprint recording sheets, flipbooks, writing templates, and
assessment rubrics are optional and can be either copied for each student or
placed in page protectors for students to draw creations with a dry erase
marker. Writing Prompt cards are also provided to allow for literacy extensions.

I love these so much!! I am going to put them in my Fast Finishers baskets for
my Kindergartners. I love that these are open ended and that they utilize
everyday items that are already found in my classroom. I have been looking for
fast finisher items for my Kinders that are easy for me to prep and manage, as
well as relatively easy for them to complete and clean up independently. These
definitely fit the bill! Thank you so much! You just saved me tons of time!!

This product found me at just the right time. I was looking for something that I
could use with morning work instead of doing something that was a worksheet.
These STEM bins will be perfect. I was able to find most of the materials not in
my classroom already at the Dollar Tree or Target Dollar Spot. The pencil boxes
work perfectly to store the supplies too. I can't wait for my students to get to
use the STEM bins this year.

EXCELLENT!!!!! This has RIGOR and is a QUAD D product! Thank you for the added
sheets and cards for 3rd graders!! I love how easy it was to set these up with
materials from my room! Thank you for the video! After I saw how easy it would

Wow! This was just what I needed for my early finisher Firsties! I love that
there's writing integration. I imagine that even my reluctant writers will want
to draw and write about their creation. I am thinking of letting the children
take a photo of their creations if they don't have time to draw and write about
it. (I have a classroom camera that is no longer used because I just use my
phone camera!) Thanks for a great product. Great value for the money!

Hi DawnMarie! Many of the materials you will hopefully already have in your
classroom. :-) Here are the suggested items: 10-12 plastic school boxes or bins
Base ten blocks Unifix cubes Pattern blocks Dominoes Wooden blocks Play dough
and toothpicks Dixie cups Popsicle sticks and Velcro dots Index cards and tape
Legos or building blocks Pipe cleaners

one pack of index cards and maybe 100 toothpicks.

I see you need one box per 2 students. Does each group have the same materials
each day, or does each table use different supplies to work with? and are they
all using same task card each day or does each table have a different task card
to work on at same time?

Hi Mycah Students can choose and Bin and any task card so they are different
each day. I keep my task cards on rings of 6 so students have several options to
work with. :-)
