National Beauty Culturists' League Incorporated began to focus on the future by
establishing the Institute of Cosmetology to provide professional training and
opportunity for future generations of Beauty Professionals, Barbers,
Cosmetologists, Students, Nail Technicians, Make-up Artists and more. We are now
asking for support to save the prime real estate property housing the
headquarters building located in a historical location at 25 Logan Circle N. W.,
Washington, DC 20005 which was purchased in 1947.

SMSI - the abbreviated name for Segmented Marketing Services Incorporated…was
founded in 1978 by Sandra Miller.  During the 1990’s Lafayette Jones joined SMSI
as President and CEO and published the Urban Call and the Shades of Beauty
Magazines.  But this was not the only merger between these two
entrepreneurs…THEY also merged and became husband and wife and continued to grow
their list of distinguished clients…which includedmanufacturers of Beauty Care
products, Insurance Agencies and Food Companies. The successful mergers of
Sandra Miller and Lafayette Jones in marriage and in business proves that love
and business can work together!

nonprofits. This session will share videos to inform the audience about the
