Unfortunately, interactions like these are frequent and such intolerance to different opinions has become the norm. There are times where aggressive campus discourse may shift energies and students can become more open minded or willing to engage. However, it is common for today’s younger intellectual class to merely yell, or to walk away when getting exposed for holding double standards against Jews, in order to avoid considering another opinion or perspective apart from their own. On a trip to Dubai 🇦🇪, while recording street interviews, two Somalian 🇸🇴 guys yelled across the street that they wanted to be a part of our video not knowing the subject matter. When we got closer only one wanted to participate, and he was not expecting to meet the first Jew of his life. It’s clear that his views on Jews comes from deep manipulations and years of misinformation, but the reality that must be faxed is that this is the norm in many countries like Somalia. Of course this doesn’t represent all Somalians, but many societies have made it part of their popular culture to demonize the Jewish People. Today, Rabbi Yitzi comminicates using his vision, where he can formulate sentences through a special screen that picks up on the traction of his eyes. We shared many stories with Rabbi Yitzi (even showed him some videos of Jewish communities in Africa from @wewereneverlost ) and he began asking that we read special passages from a booklet he had on profound Jewish lessons. He also made sure we listened to his song "Shine A Little Light" on YouTube before giving each person that visited him a bracha of success on our journeys to come.
