VICINITY MOTOR EXPECTS COMPETITIVE EDGE AS IT PARTNERS WITH AEREUS TECHNOLOGIES
TO OFFER NEXT-GENERATION ANTIMICROBIAL TREATMENT FOR ITS BUSES

The company is leveraging the health and safety technology enhancement for its
vehicles to position it for early leadership and growth in what it believes will
become the new normal technology to deal with what has become an ongoing public
health issue


Vicinity said the technology is also available for retrofit application for all
current operating fleets of its buses throughout North America


Vicinity Motor Corp, a leading supplier of electric, CNG, gas and clean diesel
vehicles, has announced that it has partnered with Aereus Technologies to offer
its CuVerro Shield technology as an optional feature on all its Vicinity Classic
and Lightning EV buses. 

The Vancouver-based company said the technology is also available for retrofit
application for all current operating fleets of Vicinity buses throughout North
America.

CuVerro Shield is a patented permanent, non-chemical treatment that helps
protect transit passengers and operators from the transmittal of harmful
bacteria for the entire service life of the vehicle through standard cleaning
and upkeep. The treatment, which kills 99.9% of bacteria in two hours and never
wears off, is registered with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and
Health Canada Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) to make specific health
claims.

FROM QUEBEC TRANSIT OPERATORS

Vicinity said it is leveraging the health and safety technology enhancement for
its vehicles to position it for early leadership and growth in what it believes
will become the new normal technology to deal with what has become an ongoing
public health issue. Offering the CuVerro Shield enhancements will add to its
competitive advantages and help to further expand its market share throughout
North America, the company added.

"With the increasing awareness and need for antimicrobial strategies in the
public space, we believe that both transit vehicle operators and passengers can
benefit from CuVerro Shield," Vicinity Motor founder and CEO William Trainer
said in a statement. 

"Aereus Technologies has created an impressive and cost-effective solution with
its non-tarnishing copper alloy technology that has permanent efficacy over the
life of the vehicle. This allows our long-time customers to easily retrofit
existing vehicles without a significant impact to vehicle availability," he
added.

The company also announced that certain eligible directors have requested that
their remuneration for the 2021 calendar year be paid in deferred share units
(DSUs) and accordingly, it has granted 28,671 DSUs in connection with directors
remuneration for fiscal 3Q 2021.

Vicinity’s flagship line of buses, which maintains a market segment leadership
position in Canada, is produced by the firm’s world-class manufacturing partners
and will be produced at the soon-to-be-completed Buy America Act compliant
assembly facility in the State of Washington.

The company's innovative Vicinity Lightning EV bus, enabled through a strategic
supply agreement with BMW for batteries and components, seeks to lead the global
transition to more sustainable transit vehicles.
